Pianist Patrice Newman collaborates frequently in chamber music and art song. Concerts in the New York area include the Riverside Church, Hudson Highlands Music Festival, Peconic Chamber Orchestra and a chamber music debut at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall as a winner of the Artists International competition. As a new music performer, Patrice performed regularly with The Composers Circle and the Friends and Enemies of New Music in New York, and has also appeared in the Arts and Technology Symposium at Connecticut College. She is a graduate of Boston University, where she won the Piano Performance Award, and also studied at the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau, France, the Schubert Institute in Baden bei Wien, Austria, and in New York with pianist Grant Johannessen. As a collaborative pianist and coach, Patrice worked at the Mannes College of Music in New York and currently performs frequently at Connecticut College. Patrice teaches at Thames Valley Music School, and St. George’s School in Newport, RI. She is the current pianist of the Providence Singers and is a founding artistic director of Chamber Music Mystic.
